 Ayurvedic Medicine

The birth of Ayurveda originated in India over 5000 years ago, a time tested medicine which continues to flourish in the modern age. This wisdom incorporates mind, body and soul to establish abundant health.

Ayurveda originates from the Sanskrit language by which slokas of health and recognition of disease were chanted. In English translation Ayurveda can be depicted as ‘Ayu’ - Life and ‘Veda’ - Science | Knowledge.

The purpose of Ayurveda is to protect the health of the healthy and alleviate disorders in the diseased, maintaining balance and longevity.

Ayurveda recognises that (wo)man is a microcosm of the macrocosmic universe. Therefore, the five basic elements which compose the universe, are present within us, down to each individual cell.

To diagnose and treat, your Ayurvedic practitioner will identify your current composition of elements and using the ancient knowledge guide you to a place of health through; diet, lifestyle and a individualised herbal prescription.
